How to taste and appreciate our champagne ?

The three grape varieties of Champagne

The François Lecompte Champagne House grows three Champagne grape varieties on its PREMIER CRU terroir: Chardonnay, white grapes, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, black grapes.

These are the only grape varieties authorized in Champagne since 1935. They have shown until today their suitability for our terroir.

Chardonnay, white grape, is the variety of finesse and elegance. Its notes are floral, its aromas light and delicate.

Pinot Meunier is supple and fruity. Its bouquet is intense. It gives roundness to the wine.

The Pinot Noir brings the aromas of red fruits. It gives body and power to the blending of wines.

At the time of bottling, our three precious wines, which have been pressed separately, are assembled (Blending) to give a perfect balance to our Premier CRU champagnes.
